On today’s Art of Procurement, I answer a listener question. The question was: how do you make a supplier happy.
Now, I’m going to assume that the right answer isn’t to give them riches for providing peanuts! So, I sat down and thought through 6 different ways that I think we can all put at least a half smile on the faces of our suppliers this Christmas!

“Ask your supplier if there is one thing that you do – as a company – that makes their life difficult, that increases the cost of doing business with you, or that has unintended consequences. It may be that there is nothing that you can do about it, but on the flip side it may just be something small that can be fixed quite easily. You never know if you don’t ask, and at least they know that you care. “
