Spend as a Signal for Future Readiness

Spend as a Signal for Future Readiness

Every business decision has a cost, and therefore all spend management activity must be aligned with the priorities and objectives of the business. In the past, spend data was a lagging indicator, hardly suitable for determining future operational preparedness, but AI is changing that in ways we are just beginning to understand.

Zip recently surveyed over 1,000 spend management professionals to find out which categories of spend they are focused on, which skills are in greatest demand, and how AI’s role in the procurement tech stack continues to move the needle.

In this AOP Live session, we were joined by Nick Heinzmann, Head of Research at Zip, and Brooks Rocco, Lead Content Marketer at Zip, to discuss the findings and recommendations captured in their first annual State of Spend report.

Nick and Brooks answered live questions about:

  • How spend acts as a ‘signal’ for today’s business activity and the sophistication being built for tomorrow
  • Whether AI preparedness matches procurement’s AI enthusiasm and confidence
  • Ways the modern procurement tech stack is diversifying in response to new digital capabilities and external pressures
