Art of Procurement Welcomes Tony Uphoff as Senior Advisor

Art of Procurement is pleased to announce that Tony Uphoff, Founder and Managing Partner of Uphoff Advisory, LLC, has joined the company as a Senior Advisor, bringing more than three decades of experience building, scaling, and transforming B2B information, data, and marketing services businesses.

Through Uphoff Advisory, LLC, a strategic advisory firm, Tony works with senior executives, boards, and investors across B2B information, marketing, and technology on growth strategy, business transformation, and M&A. He also serves as a Board Advisor to Pipeline 360, the B2B demand generation company he led as CEO and as a Senior Advisor to Xometry-Thomasnet.com. He is among the most sought-after operators in B2B media, and his decision
to take on this role at Art of Procurement, alongside his advisory practice, reflects a relationship that goes back to 2020, when he first joined Art of Procurement's Mastermind LIVE digital event.

Tony has led the transformation of five B2B media and data businesses. Most recently, as President and CEO of Thomas, he rebuilt a century-old industrial publisher around Thomasnet.com as a digital sourcing and data platform, culminating in its sale to Xometry for $300 million in December of 2021. Before Thomas, he was CEO of Business.com, which he grew and sold in 2016, and CEO of UBM TechWeb, where he turned a declining print portfolio into a growing digital media, live event, and marketing services business. He has also served as
President of VNU Media's Entertainment Group and Publisher of The Hollywood Reporter, and Publisher of InformationWeek. In 2020, he received the McAllister Fellowship Award from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

As Senior Advisor, Tony will work with the Art of Procurement leadership team on the company's next phase of growth as it evolves from a media company into a media, events, and intelligence platform for the procurement profession. He brings particular conviction on the role of AI in that evolution, having spent his recent career at the front edge of how artificial intelligence reshapes media, research, and business intelligence. That perspective is central to Art of Procurement's strategy, and Tony will help guide how AI strengthens the insights, events, research and intelligence the company delivers to procurement leaders.

"I have watched Art of Procurement earn something rare: the genuine trust of the procurement community, built one honest conversation at a time," said Tony Uphoff. "The opportunity now is to grow that into a modern intelligence platform, with AI as a core part of how the research is produced and delivered. Philip and Kelly have the audience, the credibility, and the ambition to build something that matters for the whole profession, and I am glad to help them do it."

Philip Ideson, Founder and Managing Director of Art of Procurement, said:
"We have known Tony since 2020, and every conversation with him raises our sights on what Art of Procurement can become. He has built and scaled the kind of business we are building, five times over, and he understands where AI is taking media and intelligence better than anyone I know. As we move into our next phase of growth, Tony's guidance will help us scale with the discipline and ambition the moment calls for."

Tony's appointment reflects Art of Procurement's investment in the experience required to grow into a leading intelligence platform for the procurement profession. As the company expands its research, data, and events, his track record scaling comparable businesses, and his conviction on the role of AI in their future, will help shape how those offerings are built and brought to the
community.
