Some procurement providers focus on strategy. Others focus mostly on execution. ProcureAbility has built their model around doing both, and, more importantly, sustaining results over time.
In this Provider of the Week conversation, I speak with Darshan Deshmukh, President of ProcureAbility, about how their approach combines deep procurement expertise, scalable delivery, and a strong focus on talent to help organizations move from intent to impact.
What does ProcureAbility do today, and how has your service offering evolved over time?
“ProcureAbility is a leading procurement services firm. We deliver services across four major buckets: advisory work, managed services, staffing and recruiting, and digital solutions.
We started as a traditional consulting firm, but over time, clients said, ‘You’ve driven transformation, now we need a sustainable execution model with scale, capacity, and efficiency.’ That’s how we built our managed services business.
Our intention is really to be a one-stop shop for clients when it comes to procurement.”
What differentiates your approach from other providers in this space?
“We are in the people business. Those are our assets. Making sure that we are hiring, retaining, and continuing to grow outstanding talent is the key part of our mission.
Our mission is happy employees, satisfied clients. Everything we do culturally falls within those principles. The only career track we provide is for someone passionate about procurement. We don’t have generalists; our teams bring deep practitioner experience, even at the analyst level.”
How do you measure success with both clients and employees?
“One of the metrics that we track is called ‘client implied promise.’ SOW is table stakes… what we focus on is why did the customer choose to partner with us, and can we articulate that clearly? The goal is to exceed that implied promise. We also look at whether the client sees us as an extension of their team and a critical part of their success story.
On the employee side, we track feedback through surveys and NPS, including whether they would recommend friends or family to work here.”
What business outcomes do your clients most consistently achieve?
“Cost savings is table stakes. Hard savings and cost avoidance are always part of the conversation. But our approach is partnership-driven. It’s not about ‘mine versus yours,’ it’s about whether, as a total team, we are driving the ROI expected from the program.
We’re also seeing revenue enablement become a key metric: faster time to market, supporting new product introductions, and enabling growth. Supply chain resiliency is another major focus… helping clients respond to tariffs, geopolitical disruption, and logistical challenges.
And then there’s compliance, making sure there’s no leakage and that negotiated value is actually captured.”
What trends will shape procurement services over the next 12 to 24 months?
“With AI innovation, procurement services are becoming more technology-integrated. Anything operational will get automated. Analysis and synthesis will also get automated, driving efficiency significantly. Where value will remain is in critical thinking, consensus building, and relationship management.”
