Manufacturing organizations must be comfortable operating in complex, fast-paced conditions if they want to thrive. That means streamlining internal processes with the help of systems, and ensuring that cross-functional collaboration is friction-free.
The traditional gap between product design and sourcing execution is a real business constraint, but it is one that technology can address. AI-enabled platforms are now making it easier for procurement to get involved sooner, to assist engineering in the evaluation of bills of material (BOMs), and for both teams to work together to track quality and compliance in addition to cost.
In this AOP Live session, we were joined by Imran Shaikh, Head of Pre-Sales and Business Development at Samsung SDS America, and Ian Silver, Global Head of Delivery at Samsung SDS America.
Imran and Ian answered live questions about:
- How AI is efficiently connecting engineering inputs, sourcing workflows, and quality/risk considerations
- The digital capabilities required to support early (and effective) sourcing engagement at scale
- A practical vision of what “best in class” Design-to-Source looks like as the approach continues to mature
