Art of Procurement : Updated on July 28, 2026
Art of Procurement is pleased to announce that Samir Khushalani has joined the company as a Senior Advisor, bringing more than three decades of experience helping global organizations transform procurement through technology, operating model design, and digital innovation.
Throughout his career, Samir has advised many of the world's leading organizations, most recently serving as Global Digital Procurement and Operating Model Service Line Leader at McKinsey & Company. Prior to McKinsey, he held leadership positions at KPMG and EY, guiding organizations through holistic procurement transformation programs that leveraged technology, to unlock new sources of insight and impact.
Earlier this year, Samir stepped away from full-time consulting to focus on advising procurement executives, supporting emerging technology companies, and mentoring the next generation of procurement and supply chain leaders. His work with Art of Procurement builds on a successful collaboration during the 2025-26 where he partnered closely with the AOP team while at McKinsey on the ProcureTech100 program and served as a keynote speaker at the Catalyst
conferences in Los Angeles and New York City.
As Senior Advisor, Samir will help shape Art of Procurement's strategic direction across multiple initiatives, providing executive guidance on operating model evolution, procurement technology, AI adoption, and thought leadership. He will also play a key role in the continued evolution of the ProcureTech100, helping strengthen its research methodology, evaluation framework, and long-
term vision as the industry's most trusted guide to the procurement technology landscape.
"The procurement profession is entering one of the most significant periods of transformation it has ever experienced," said Samir Khushalani. "We're moving from software that enables work to software that performs work. I'm excited to work with Philip Ideson, Kelly Barner, and the entire Art of Procurement team to help procurement leaders make sense of this rapidly changing landscape while continuing to build trusted resources that help the profession move
forward."
Philip Ideson, Founder and Managing Director of Art of Procurement, said:
"We've had the privilege of working with Samir over the past year. He brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, practical experience, and genuine passion for advancing the profession. As Art of Procurement continues to expand our research, executive advisory work, and programs like the ProcureTech100, Samir's guidance will help ensure we're creating resources that are both rigorous and deeply valuable for procurement leaders around the world."
Samir's appointment reflects Art of Procurement's continued investment in helping procurement leaders navigate the intersection of technology, operating model transformation, and business value. As AI reshapes how procurement organizations work, his experience will help strengthen the research, insights, and community initiatives that enable executives to make better-informed
decisions with confidence.
