AI Agents of Change: Reimagining the Procurement Operating Model

AI Agents of Change: Reimagining the Procurement Operating Model

Procurement has shown a strong and consistent enthusiasm for AI, but that doesn’t mean they know exactly what to expect or even how to integrate it into their tech stack.

Beyond the technology itself, there are questions to be answered about operating model strategy, workforce impact, and avoiding ‘transformation fatigue.’ Before procurement can get beyond the pilot stage and start measuring the incremental impact of AI, they will have to better understand what it is capable of and what potential that holds.

In this AOP Live session, we were joined by Varish Singh, Managing Director at Accenture Strategy, Chris Sawchuk, Principal and Global Procurement Advisory Practice Leader at The Hackett Group, and Vishal Patel, Senior Vice President of Product & Customer Marketing at Ivalua.

They discussed:

  • How procurement teams should decide where to focus their AI-related efforts, and how those priorities will affect talent and process
  • The choices procurement will face in the process of bringing AI agents into their tech stack
  • Examples of how teams are leveraging AI agents today, and what recent research suggests about how it will alter procurement’s path in the future
